I am deeply saddened by the death of my dear friend, Richard Mosler. I’ve known Richard for many years. We worked together in Seattle and we were very close. Richard was one of the kindest person I have ever met. He was always lending a hand to others and reaching out when they were in need. He was talented, smart and very funny…he always brought so much light into the lives of those around him. My deepest condolences to his family…Please know I am sending you all the love and prayers and hope you can find strength during this difficult time. Richard was an amazing person. I will miss him very much.

God Bless!

Rick, we had so many fun times over the many years I've known you. I'll always remember your great sense of humor that brightened my days no matter what else was going on. What a great gift it is to be able to bring fun and laughter into the world and you definitely were better at this than anyone I know. I'll miss all the silly Youtube videos you would send me almost daily and our frequent discussions on the important things in life: video games, electronics and cars. I'll miss all the Christmas and birthday cards you would send me full of confetti so they would make a mess when I opened them. I'll miss the calls to my house where you would pretend you were calling from SDG&E (always in your best Indian or Chinese accent) to let me know of impending power outtages that of course never quite happened. I'll miss all the great stories of pranks you would pull on your co-workers, I'm sure you made going to work a lot more enjoyable for them as well. Most of all though, I'll miss you my friend. Thanks for being a part of my life. May God bless you always and know that I will remember you always in my prayers.

Rick was a native San Diegan, born in El Cajon, CA and passed away at Kaiser Zion Hospital from complications of heart and renal failure.

Rick’s many interests were: San Diego Chargers and Padres, tracking weather, pet cat Xander, birding, cooking, house plants, aviation, computer games, electronic gadgets, German autos, and a good sense of humor.

He graduated with honors in 2008 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott, AZ. He earned degrees in Aviation Business Administration and Airport Rescue and Aviation Safety. He was President of the Student Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives and was granted the Outstanding Graduate from the Business Department Award, which is given to only one graduate each year. After graduation, Rick started working in the operations department at Paine Field in Everett, Washington on November 2008. From there, he transitioned to working as a Superintendent of Operations at Los Angeles International Airport. He then began working as an Airport Duty Manager at Sea-Tac International Airport from December 2012 until April 2017 and made many friendships. Friendship was important to Rick, and he stayed connected with his long-time friends, Carlos, Jesus, James, and Embry-Riddle alumni and Sea-Tac co-workers.

Rick was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. His is survived by his sisters Rosemarie Mosler and Patti Rinaldi, brother-in-law Alex, and niece Rebecca. His parents Henry and Mary, stepmother Peggy, brother Eddie, and sister Elizabeth preceded him in death. Rick’s many interests, sense of humor, and love of family & friends will be greatly missed.
