Caroline Marie Platt

June 28, 1931– October 10, 2020

Caroline Marie Platt was born Caroline Marie Kirchner on June 28, 1931 in Wheeling, West Virginia. Her parents were Vincent & Gladys Kirchner and she grew up in a large family with 12 siblings. She had 3 sisters and 8 brothers. When she was 22 she met her future husband USMC Captain Charles Platt and they were married in 1953 and lived in several places across the USA before settling in Chula Vista, CA in 1967. They joined St. Pius X Catholic Parish and they were members for 53 years where she volunteered for the Alter Rosary Society.
After raising her sons, she started working for the San Diego Unified School District where she retired. Caroline loved to cook and she also loved baseball. She became a Madre for the San Diego Padres often singing on the field before games. Above all, she loved her church and her family.
She leaves behind her husband Charles of 68 years and 4 of her 5 children, Charles, Clay, Craig and Christopher. She has been reunited with her son Carl (whom passed away at 2 weeks old) in heaven with Jesus. She is also survived by daughter in laws, Guadalupe, Darlene and Cassandra, 4 grandchildren, SabrinaLeigh, Noel, Charles, Jerianne and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.
